Mine Spec & Compliance

Built to pass
site induction

There is no single national mine-spec standard. Each state regulates mining safety differently, and operators like Rio Tinto, BHP and Fortescue layer their own site specs on top. We build to the standards your HSE team audits against — and hand over the documentation to prove it.

I-Bus 4×4 mine-spec bus — built to pass site induction

A road-legal coach isn't a mine bus. We do the whole fit-out in-house — including the hard compliance work most won't touch: seat-belt monitoring, integrated safety systems, alcohol interlocks and custom dust-sealing. If your site spec calls for it, we build it in.

The standards we build to

Cited by number, not just badged "mine-spec"

Engineering and HSE buyers want certainty. Every MineBus build references the applicable Australian Design Rules and Standards — so first-time site entry is the expectation, not the hope.

ADR 59

Omnibus Rollover Strength

Superstructure engineered to withstand rollover forces and maintain a residual survival space for seated occupants — the rollover benchmark for buses and coaches.

ADR 68/01

Occupant Protection in Buses

Three-point seatbelts, seat and anchorage strength, plus seatbelt-awareness reminders at every passenger seat — mandatory for new bus models from 1 Nov 2026. MineBus builds are ready now.

ADR 80/04

Emissions (Euro 6)

Current diesel drivelines meet ADR 80/04 / Euro 6 emissions, keeping your fleet compliant and site-acceptable for the long term.

AS 5062

Vehicle Fire Protection

Engine-bay fire-suppression provisions aligned to AS 5062 — the standard Australian mining cites for fire protection on mobile and heavy plant.

Specific configuration and certification are confirmed per build and per site. MineBus references these standards as the baseline for mine-spec configuration.

Active safety & driver assist

Every layer of protection a site engineer looks for

Beyond the passive mine kit, our platforms carry the active-safety and driver-assist systems that keep a loaded crew bus out of trouble on haul roads and in congested pit areas — specified to each model and site.

Active safety & ADAS

  • Autonomous emergency braking (AEB)
  • Lane-departure & forward-collision warning
  • Blind-spot & 360° camera monitoring
  • Driver-fatigue & distraction monitoring
  • Alcohol-interlock ignition (Dräger)
  • Seat-belt monitoring on every seat

Braking, stability & ride

  • ABS / EBS with electronic stability control
  • Traction control on loose surfaces
  • Hill-hold & anti-rollaway alarm
  • Electronic park brake (model-dependent)
  • Air suspension & kerb kneeling options
  • Tyre-pressure monitoring & alarm

Comms & fleet integration

  • UHF two-way, ready for site channels
  • GPS / telematics for tracking & utilisation
  • Integrates with mine fleet-management systems
  • In-cabin & road-facing CCTV with recording
  • Electrics laid out for fast pre-start checks
  • Fault isolation & lock-out / tag-out ready

Active-safety and driver-assist availability varies by platform and model year — we confirm the exact system list against your chosen bus and site requirements.

Why operators choose MineBus

More than a mine-spec badge

Plenty of coaches can be dressed up to look mine-ready. These are the things that actually move a crew across an Australian site — and that most alternatives simply can't offer.

Genuine OEM 4×4

Factory Isuzu 4×4 on NPS and FTS — real high/low range for wet, off-sealed haul roads and remote access, not a highway coach with taller tyres.

LR-licence options

Configurations your existing crew can drive on an LR licence — easier rostering and lower cost to keep buses moving on site.

Buy or hire

Own it outright, finance it, or hire through RedRentals — short-term for shutdowns or long-term across a campaign. Match the commercial model to the job.

Built & fitted in Australia

End-to-end mine fit-out in-house by Bus Stop Sales — 50+ years of Australian bus building behind every unit, configured to your operator's build sheet.

Isuzu behind you

Built on Australia's best-selling truck brand — the most extensive dealer, parts and service network in the country, so support is never far from site.

Parts & field service

Genuine parts warehoused locally and factory-trained technicians across five states, with field service that follows the bus onto site.

Site-by-site

We know the operator specs

Rio differs from BHP differs from Fortescue. We translate each operator's requirements into a build sheet, so the bus that arrives is the bus that gets through the gate.

Tell us the site

Operator, mine and the gate requirements you have to meet. If you're not sure, we'll help you confirm them.

We build the spec

We configure the platform, mine kit and documentation to match — referencing the applicable ADR and AS standards.

It passes first time

Your bus arrives induction-ready with the paperwork your HSE team needs, minimising mobilisation delays.

Compliance, sorted

Send us your site spec

We'll confirm the requirements, build to them and document it. One less thing between you and a moving crew.
