Specced for the job

Beyond seat count — the configuration that fits your terrain, licence pool, emissions goals and access.

How to choose

Match the bus to the run

By crew size

19–31 seats for light personnel runs and small crews; 35–45 for mixed duty and charter crossover; 53–57 for full shift changes and long-haul FIFO transfers.

By terrain

Sealed haul roads and camp runs suit standard air-suspension coaches. Rough access, river crossings or underground? Spec a 4×4 conversion or purpose-built personnel carrier.

By commercial model

Buy outright to standardise a long-term fleet, or hire through RedRentals for project-length flexibility without the depreciation exposure.

Questions, answered

Mine bus FAQs

What is a mine bus?
A mine bus is a passenger bus configured to a mine site's safety specification — rollover protection, fire suppression, seat-belt monitoring, alcohol interlocks, dust sealing, beacons and UHF — built to the relevant Australian Design Rules and each operator's induction requirements. A road-registered coach isn't a mine bus until it's built to that spec, and we do that fitment in-house.
Do you build 4×4 mine buses for off-road sites?
Yes. The I-Bus NPS and FTS are true OEM 4×4 on Isuzu chassis — dual-range (high/low) transfer case and rear diff lock — for wet, steep or unformed access where a standard coach can't go. For formed haul roads we also offer high-clearance 2WD platforms.
How many seats do mine buses come in?
From 19 up to 61 seats. The range runs the 19-seat I-Bus NPS 4×4, the 25–31 I-Bus NQR, King Long coaches from 41 to 57 seats, and the 57-Seat flagship configurable to 61 — sized to your busiest crew movement.
Are your mine buses built to Australian mining standards?
Every build references ADR 59 (rollover strength), ADR 68/01 (occupant protection), ADR 80/04 (Euro 6 emissions) and AS 5062 (fire suppression), then the site-specific requirements each operator — Rio Tinto, BHP, Fortescue and others — applies on top. We document the build so it clears induction.
Can I buy or hire a mine bus, and do you deliver to remote sites?
Both — buy through Bus Stop Sales & Service, or hire through RedRentals for shutdowns and surge. We deliver Australia-wide and support the fleet with genuine parts warehoused across five states and factory-trained field service to remote regions including the Pilbara, Bowen Basin, Surat Basin, Hunter Valley and the Goldfields.
